White Fillings

Once a tooth has decayed beyond a certain stage it is necessary to restore the tooth with a filling, in order to prevent it from decaying further and ultimately being damaged beyond repair.

This is achieved by removing the existing decay and bacteria that are causing the problem and filling the tooth with a material that will prevent the tooth from decaying any further. The degree to which a tooth needs to be restored is dependent on how much damage has been caused by the decay.

Before

After

Where the majority of the tooth is still healthy the decay can be removed and a filling material can be placed in the tooth to seal it from further decay and rebuild its strength for biting with.

White fillings are the most common type of filling that we provide and we have extensive experience in placing these types of restoration. As the techniques for placement of white fillings are more sophisticated than those required for more traditional metal fillings, we use a special rubber dam for the placement of all our fillings which helps to keep the tooth dry and improves the quality of the restoration we are able to provide.

The cost of these fillings depends on their size as this influences the amount of work required to place them.

Typical costs per filling are as follows:

Small - £78.75

Medium - £115.50

Large - £157.50

Costs include placement of rubber dam as a necessary part of the procedure.
